organza flowers

Instead of shower games at baby shower #2 we decorated bibs and headbands, unfortunately I didn’t have my camera with to take pics, but I do have scraps of fabric to make some flowers to show you.

First you need scraps of fabrics that contain polyester, (not sure what %) a scissors, candle. (you will also need a lighter/matches and maybe want some water)

I cut some scraps from my daughter’s Christmas dress.

Then I trimmed them and cut slits in them.

Then after lighting the candle CAREFULLY hold the fabric against the flame until the edges melt and slightly curl. This goes fast and it just has to be close enough to feel the heat from the flame.

Finally glue or sew several layers together, you can also heat them together with the flame. If you wish you may also glue a pearl, rhinestone, or button in the center of the flower. These can be glued or sewn to hair accessories, pins or even dresses.
