Chocolate hot pads.

Ok they aren’t really made of chocolate, just fabric that looks like chocolate.

This time I started by sewing a loop for hanging. I probably won’t actually hang them, but if I make some for a gift I wouldn’t want that time to be the first time I make them. (just in case I need to make a few changes in how I add them or where I add them)

I started with a small rectangular piece of fabric and folded it half, then folded the edges to the center and sewed along the open edge. and cut a piece for each hot pad I was making.

Then I stacked 2 layers of insulfleece, 1 layer of fabric, the hang loop (at one corner) and the other layer of fabric, and sewed most of the way around it. I also trimmed the corners and the edges of the insulfleece to reduce the bulk at the corners and edges.

After turning the hot pads right side out I did a zig-zag stitch all the way around.

My hands will make thank me for these. I should have ironed the hang loops, otherwise they turned out great.
